Senior Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh said a loan agreement was signed today at the Ministry of Finance between IDB Lab and Pas Cargo Guyana Incorporated.
The Ministry of Finance noted the agreement is the first loan accessed by a Guyanese private sector company through IDB Lab.
Lorena Solórzano‑Salazar, Country Representative for the Inter‑American Development Bank Group in Guyana, and Graham Macmillan, visiting General Manager of IDB Lab, attended the ceremony; Macmillan was on his first official visit to Guyana. Dr. Ashni Singh welcomed and congratulated Mr. Macmillan on his appointment.
Shridat Narine signed on behalf of Pas Cargo as its Executive Director, and the IDB Lab General Manager signed on behalf of the Bank.
Pas Cargo Guyana Incorporated was established in Georgetown in 2012 and has been in existence for 14 years in Guyana. The company provides logistics and freight‑forwarding services, including cargo handling, customs brokerage, warehousing and last‑mile delivery.
IDB Lab is the innovation and venture arm of the Inter‑American Development Bank.
Dr. Tarachand Balgobin attended the signing as Chief Planning Officer of the Ministry of Finance, Navita Anganu‑Ramroop attended as Guyana’s Counselor to the IDB Board, and Maria Niles attended as Private Sector Development Consultant for IDB Lab.
