Housing minister Vanessa Benn said the Yarrowkabra Hyde Park development will provide a shade house for each beneficiary. “This project is going to enable each of those beneficiaries to have a shade house attached to their home,” she said.
The disclosure was made on last Saturday at Kuru Kuru Training College. More than 75 homes have already been completed at Yarrowkabra Hyde Park in Region Four. Over 50 beneficiaries have been allocated to the government initiative.
Benn said the plan is to strengthen the economic impact of the housing development through agriculture. She said discussions are already underway with key agricultural stakeholders and that she recently met with Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha.
Benn added, “We are going to be working a lot more diligently on that project very soon. We have over 50 persons who are already allocated.” A two‑day training programme is being planned for the beneficiaries.
