President Ali awarded CEAPI Medal of Honour in Madrid

President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali was awarded the CEAPI Medal of Honour in Madrid during a one-day visit, in recognition of his leadership and Guyana’s growing international standing.

The ceremony brought together Ibero-American business leaders and was led by CEAPI president Nuria Vilanova. It included a laudatio delivered by Jose Rafael Gomez Sanchez, a CEAPI partner and vice president of Tecnoconsult Group.

While in Madrid, President Ali met with Madrid Mayor Jose Luis Martinez-Almeida, and they discussed the impact of sports tourism on cities and national economies. He toured the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid, and gained insight into the stadium’s operations and maintenance.

The CEAPI Medal of Honour is the highest distinction awarded by CEAPI. CEAPI, the Consejo Empresarial Alianza por Iberoamérica, is the Ibero-American Business Council, a Madrid-based organisation of business leaders across Spain, Portugal, and Latin America.
