GPL receives 6 MW generation donation from Bosai Minerals Group

GPL said the donation consisted of six 1‑megawatt generator sets, totalling 6 MW of generation capacity, given to the Government of Guyana through GPL by Bosai Minerals Group Guyana Inc. and Guyana Manganese Inc.

GPL said the donation agreement was signed by Mr. Kesh Nandlall, Head of GPL’s Executive Management Committee, and by Mr. George Zhao, representing Bosai Minerals Group Guyana Inc. GPL said the signing was witnessed by Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Hon. Mark Phillips, Minister of Public Utilities and Aviation Hon. Deodat Indar, China’s Ambassador to Guyana Her Excellency Yang Yang, GPL Director Mr. Gary Hall, Major General (Ret’d) Norman McLean and Mr. Eric Yu.

GPL said the generator sets are currently located at Port Kaituma, Region One and that relocation and installation are expected to be completed within four months.

GPL said it is constructing three solar farms totalling 15 MW in Linden and a new substation at Kuru Kururu.

Bosai Minerals Group Guyana Inc. said it is constructing a 10 MW solar farm in Region 10 and that the Bosai solar farm in Region 10 is expected to add further capacity by 2028.
