The Bartica Government Service Centre has processed approximately 6,000 transactions in just over two weeks since opening.
The Bartica Government Service Centre was officially opened and has been operational since August. The centre is located in Region Seven and brings together the Guyana Revenue Authority, General Register Office, Electronic Identification enrolment, National Insurance Scheme and Immigration services.
Vickram Bharrat is Minister of Natural Resources. He said the facility is helping to remove the burden previously faced by residents who had to travel outside the region to access essential government services. He also said the heavy burden is officially being lifted and that a one‑stop government service centre is being brought to Bartica, bringing the Ghana Revenue Authority, GRO Registration, EID Enrollment, NIS and Immigration Services under one roof.
Zulfikar Ally is Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation. He said residents no longer have to travel to Georgetown, Linden or another region to obtain services. He said citizens will be able to access documents such as EID, passport, birth certificate and driver’s licence from the comfort of their homes.
The Bartica Government Service Centre is part of the national rollout of one‑stop government service centres.
