Government launches new facilities at Mahdia District Hospital

The government has begun improvements at Mahdia District Hospital, adding a new digital X‑ray, an oxygen plant to manufacture oxygen on site, and a new ophthalmology department with modern equipment. A new Malaria Department has been established at Mahdia Hospital, and the rehab department has been rehabilitated. The hospital has also added a new dental unit, an operating theatre, a laboratory and new wards. Mahdia Hospital now employs 14 doctors.

The government is establishing new hospitals at Bartica, Lethem, Kato, Moruca and Kamarang.

The government is upgrading all health facilities to decentralise services across the country.
