The eProcure website was launched in February, Minister Zulfikar Ally said, and it centralises the government’s expressions of interest, requests for proposals and other procurement opportunities in one location.
The Minister added that the eProcure platform eliminates the need for contractors and businesses to rely solely on newspaper advertisements to identify government procurement opportunities, and that all government tenders and requests for proposals are now available on the eProcure website.
He also stated that the government is preparing to move to a fully digital procurement system, and that the planned procurement portal will allow bids to be submitted electronically and enable bidders to track the status and progress of their submissions.
