The Team Mohamed Facebook page has disappeared from public view, according to police reports.
Police said two of Azruddin Mohamed’s mobile phones and a laptop were taken into custody after Mohamed, his driver and a photographer were detained following a visit to the Leonora area. The phones, which had been used to access the Team Mohamed account, were seized at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Friday, and the laptop was also taken.
Police described the stop as involving two police vehicles that halted Mohamed’s group while leaving the area, searched the occupants and the vehicle, and discovered a drone. Police alleged the drone had been flown over President Irfaan Ali’s residence and also seized two vehicles, Mohamed’s identification card, driver’s licence and keys.
Police confirmed that Mohamed’s three employees – Eugene Thorne, Mario Mohamed and Dwayne Ross – remain in police custody.
The test noted that smartphones can store passwords through services such as Apple’s Passwords/iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager and that a stored Facebook password may be entered automatically after the device user authenticates with a passcode, Face ID, fingerprint or another method. The test also recorded that the password field was initially empty and concluded that the test does not establish that anyone in possession of the phones could access or delete the Facebook page.
Facebook stated that administrators have separate options to deactivate or unpublish a Page, and that both actions can remove a Page from public view while allowing it to be restored. Facebook added that a Page disappearing from public view does not necessarily mean it was permanently deleted.
